Today was family day. I went to the Patriot Club to pick Joe up. I was so happy and excited to see him, I got a little misty eyed (I just don't cry that easily). So we were happy and then we met up with Lasalle and his girlfriend and her mother. We went to the artillery museum, the guardhouse where Geronimo was kept (saw his cell), and Geronimo's grave. It was very interesting. I want to learn more about the history of the area, including Geronimo's involvement with the U.S. army. Interesting! We went to their barracks after that so we could see where they'd been living. Close quarters lets just say. Charlie Battery. Then we went to lunch at a Chinese buffet. It was ok. We dropped them at their hotel and then we got to hang out together some more. We went to the Museum of the Great Plains in Lawton. That was interesting. We saw a huge sloth! There is a replica of a fort outside at the museum and we were out there for about an hour talking to the guy at the trading post. We learned a lot and Joe got to start a fire using a fire iron (or whatever it was called) and a rock and some material and some rope...it was very cool. Then we just cooled off and watched some tv and ordered pizza. It was so nice to just be together. Took him back to base and came back. Just thought I'd update while I have the time. Tomorrow is Graduation!!!
