I "HEART" March 17th!

Ok , so I love St. Patricks Day! I'm only the tiniest bit Irish but we always celebrated it with food in my family and of course...wearing green. So I got as much green as I could to dress up for school. My kids thought I was totally insane, it was awesome. Then when I got home I prepared some St. Patrick's Day food, including green milk (here's to you Mom). Joe thought it was so fun!

So here is my green milk. And I made shamrock toasties. Cut a green bell pepper near the bottom to make the shamrock shape. Toast an English muffin, put cheddar cheese slices on top, put the pepper on (with a tiny slice for the stem). Then broil them till the cheese is melted-delicious! And sweet shamrock pretzels. Used Pilsbury bread stick dough, shaped them, sprinkle on green sugar and cinnamon then bake as directed. So cute!

St. Patrick's Pot of Gold! I made jello jigglers- I don't like lemon flavor so i mixed it with strawberry so they gold is orange but I was ok with that. Then you slice a tiny bit off the bottom of some limes so they'll stand up. Cut off quarter off the top, then scrape out the inside. Insert little cubes of Jello jigglers and voila!

And this is a terrible picture but here I am after making the green milk, in all my St. Patrick's Day glory (and green).

That is sooo cool, my girls would have loved it. I should do more fun dinners with St. Patrick's Day.
